When it comes to having an engagement ring designed, or any jewellery for that matter, using a local jewellery designer is the best option for a number of reasons. We will discuss why “local is lekker” when it comes to getting your own personalised bling, whatever it may be.
Being in The Same Time Zone is Important
If you ask anyone who has had to work around a time difference, they will tell you, this makes communication a lot more complicated. When you only have certain windows available for communication it causes delays and complications to the design process and final delivery of your jewellery.
You Can Change Your Mind
The fact that you not only share a time zone with the business but also a location, you will change your mind. This is not to say you should be calling every five minutes with a different design concept. However, being in the same location as your chosen jewellery designer means that you can call them with input at any time within their trading hours, and even arrange to see them.
A Local Jeweller You Can Visit in Person
The best means of communication is face-to-face. This leaves very little room for confusion or being misunderstood. Designers will tell you that no matter how many emails or phone calls they exchange with a client, the best way to grasp what the client wants is a face-to-face meeting. If you are in Gauteng, be sure to visit the best jewellery designers in Pretoria, before you start the design process.

You Can See the Progress of the Piece
When you make use of a local jewellery designer you can request to see how the process is coming along. This can be particularly useful if you are having an engagement ring designed for your soon-to-be fiancé as a surprise.
This way, if you have gotten it wrong, you can meet with the designer to see if there is still time to get your fiancé exactly what she wants, without spoiling the surprise.

September 16, 2019 at 5:06 pmI didn’t really considering buying local, I always thought of buying somewhere I thought would be good (trips abroad, etc) but supporting local is definitely a good tip you put out there. And right on we could always check on them if you have issues with your piece. I will keep this in mind during my next purchase.

September 25, 2019 at 3:00 pmI totally agree. After buying generic jewellery online from overseas I kept having terrible experiences. Now I buy from local jewellers only. Local is lekker!
