What to pack for a weekend getaway

What to Pack for a Weekend Getaway

April 7, 2019

Just thinking of all the things we want and all the things we actually need for a weekend escape makes us feel anxious and it’s a never-ending process. No matter where you’re going and for how long you’re planning to stay, always think smart and practical. We’ve singled out some of the things that might come in handy and make your weekend getaway less stressful and more enjoyable.

Key items

Since you’re going on a short trip, you might as well want to pack your clothes wisely. Think of the pieces you wear the most and which match almost everything in your closet. These items are usually jeans, shorts and monochrome palazzo wide pants. Bring a pair of each and mix and match with basic tees, crop tops, shirts, camisoles and blouses. Planning your outfits in advance shouldn’t be a big deal since you’ll be gone for only a few days. But, if you like to make instant decisions, then create your killer outfits when you’re there.

Practical toiletry bag

Our skin deserves more attention than our clothes, so don’t forget to bring a toiletry bag where you can organize and pack most of your skincare and makeup essentials. Toiletry bags from PurseN can definitely respond to your needs and can hold your serums, moisturizers, micellar cleansing water, eyeshadows, lipsticks and everything else you use for skin treatments.

Comfy shoes

Regardless of the place you’re visiting, expect to be on your feet for most of the time. Therefore, you’ll have to pack shoes that are comfy and versatile enough to go with your favorite flowery sundresses and also with your sweatpants and sweatshirts. Think of the popular shoewear that bloggers and celebs wear all the time and steal their idea of looking casually chic. Perhaps, women’s Adidas sneakers could get you that casual chic vibe you’ve been longing for. Also, think about some bright colored fancy lightweight slides you could wear for the beach and a midday stroll since they don’t take too much space in your suitcase.

Sleep mask and earplugs

We all know the luxury of a good nap, so don’t let anyone ruin it while you’re traveling. To keep yourself safe from people, noise and lights, buy a versatile and soft sleep mask with earplugs that come along. It will help you relax and fall asleep quickly, so you won’t have to lose your precious time sleeping when you get to the final destination.

Medicine bag

One of the most important things you should always wear when traveling either long or short distances is a small home pharmacy. Be prepared for sudden headaches, muscle pain, a temperature that can spoil your whole day, and be equipped with several analgesics and antipyretics, and some patches as well. What many people tend to forget when packing medicine bags are probiotics. Our intestinal microflora is often imbalanced when changing surroundings. Probiotics can be used before traveling to alleviate digestion problems such as diarrhea and hypersensitivity. Traveling to specific countries and trying out their cuisine can cause the settling of foreign bacteria into the intestines, as well as microorganisms that produce toxic substances that adversely affect the function of intestinal peristalsis. Symptoms may include stomach pains, nausea and vomiting and sometimes fever. In these cases, probiotics can be really helpful.

Wrinkle release spray

No matter how good you’ve ironed your clothes before the trip and had them neatly folded and packed, you know you’ll experience a mini-stroke when you open the suitcase. No one likes wearing wrinkled dresses and shirts, so you have to give a chance to a wrinkle release spray. They are affordable and work most of the time, depending on how bad the wrinkle situation is.

Because you never know where and when a pool or a hot tub could pop up. One-pieces are super stylish and you could bring a pair or two, just in case.

Trendy shades to keep the sun out your eyes – Source

They are cool, trendy, protective and plus, you weren’t born to be a people person all the time. So, bring your favourite shades as you could always use them as an excuse for avoiding people you run into accidentally.

If you’re still not sure what to pack, call your mom for some extra tips we might have skipped here and turn the weekend mode on.

Comfy shoes are easy to forget, because you only think about how you’ll look in an outfit, not how long you’ll end up walking around. It really is important to remember to bring good shoes so you aren’t stuck in heels!
